PRP Hair Loss Treatment in Stratford-Upon-Avon
PRP Hair Restoration is a natural, medically proven treatment that uses your own blood plasma to stimulate hair growth and improve scalp health.
At Cosmedica Skin, Dr Ricky performs every procedure using the advanced Cellenis® PRP system, delivering a higher concentration of platelets for stronger and longer-lasting results.
This treatment is ideal for men and women experiencing hair thinning or early hair loss who want a natural solution without surgery.
What Is PRP Hair Loss Treatment?
A sample of your own blood is taken (like a normal blood test) in an anti-coagulation tube with separation gel. This tube is then centrifuged for 10 minutes in the state-of-the-art Cellenis® PRP system used at Cosmedica Skin.
The Cellenis® PRP system will then separate the unwanted red blood cells and pro-inflammatory granulocytes from the desired Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP). Cellenis® PRP is then injected into the areas of the scalp where there is hair thinning and hair loss that require treatment. PRP uses your own blood therefore making it a natural treatment to help with hair loss.
PRP contains a high level of quality platelets. Platelets are best known in the blood clotting process however when injected into the skin they release several growth factors and stimulate stem cell formation. These growth factors and stem cells are essential for hair follicle stimulation and regrowth. When PRP is injected into the scalp its helps to improve the hair thickness and density as the dormant hair follicles are rejuvenated.
At Cosmedica Skin we are proud to use the most advanced PRP specialised system on the market. Cellenis® PRP therapy provides a higher concentration of Platelet Rich Plasma which is 3-4 times stronger than an average PRP therapy treatment.
What We Do
At Cosmedica Skin, PRP Hair Restoration begins with a full consultation to assess the pattern and cause of hair loss.
Dr Ricky then takes a small blood sample, which is processed using the Cellenis® PRP system — one of the most advanced technologies available, producing PRP up to 3–4 times stronger than standard systems.

FAQ
PRP Hair Loss treatment
Who will benefit from PRP treatment for Hair Loss?
Those people who have early-stage hair thinning or who have age related hair pattern baldness would benefit the most. Also those who have undergone a hair follicle transplant would also benefit greatly from PRP treatment to enhance and maintain their hair regrowth. In advanced cases of complete hair loss or conditions such as alopecia areata PRP may not be as effective.
Are there any risks to PRP treatment?
Given a sample of your own blood is used PRP treatment is very safe with no risk of allergies. There is virtually no downtime and PRP treatment is suitable for all skin tones.
Is there anything I need to do Prior to treatment?
Prior to PRP treatment we recommend the following:
Avoid taking any NSAIDS (Non-Steroidal anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen or naproxen) 48 hours prior to treatment. Please note if you are taking this medication for a medical reason then do not stop this but ensure you contact us prior to treatment. Stopping NSAIDS prior to PRP treatment helps to minimise the risk of bruising.
Avoiding any alcohol intake 48 hours prior to treatment.
Increasing your vitamin C intake in food or a supplement two weeks prior to treatment can help boost the results. A 1000mg vitamin C tablet taken on the morning of the treatment would also be helpful.
Avoid supplements such as: Fish oils, Ginkgo Biloba, Vitamin E, St John’s wort and excessive amounts of ginger/garlic for at least 3 days prior to treatment helps to minimise the risk of bruising.
Ensure you are well hydrated before arriving for the PRP treatment. We recommend drinking 1.5 Litres of water prior to treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
We normally recommend when starting PRP treatment to have one treatment every 4 weeks for the first 3 months then a maintenance treatment every 6-12 months to see the best results.
